One of the benefits of keeping a journal is that it frees the mind in a healthy way. Psychiatry patients are advised to keep one to soothe their minds, reduce stress, manage anxiety and eventually cope with depression. Keeping track of a patient’s progress through their journal is a fairly reliable way of assessing their mental health.
