Description
Divided into three parts, this book focuses on clinical neuroimmunology in childhood. The first part deals with the relationship between the immune and nervous systems, with antigen presentation to the central nervous system, and with autoimmunity and its role in neurological diseases. In the subsequent part, the nosography of immune-mediated neurological diseases in children is delineated, distinguishing two categories: those primarily involving the central nervous system and those secondary to immunopathological disorders. The last part of the book is dedicated to the diagnostic and therapeutic criteria. The main target of the book is to promote interdisciplinary interactions between child neurologists and paediatricians in order to provide an integrated approach to clinical subjects with “crossover” characteristics.
